The idea behind Elmhaus.
Elmhaus was created to bring warm, design-led furnished living to Olde Towne East, a neighborhood known for its character, history, and sense of community. Each studio is thoughtfully finished with calm materials, soft textures, and the comforts that make everyday living feel easy. It’s a simple, elevated way to feel at home in one of Columbus’s most storied and walkable districts.
The Building
Elmhaus is housed inside a modest mid-century brick building that has been part of the Olde Towne East streetscape since the 1960s. For decades, it served as simple workforce housing, one of many understated brick walk-ups built during that era.
The recent renovation reimagines the building from the inside out. The original masonry remains, but every studio has been completely rebuilt with warm materials, calm finishes, and a design-led approach to furnished living. What was once a tired, overlooked property is now a quiet, modern place to land — thoughtfully updated for people who want home to feel beautiful, simple, and easy.
